Street Spring Clean 2021
Sunday, 04 July 2021 15:00
until Monday, 05 July 2021 15:00
A little late, but it's finally here...
Our award-winning Street Spring Clean is now in its eighth year (following the cancellation of 2020's event due to the pandemic) and we are
delighted that the City and County Council are able to support it again
this year.
Thanks to your efforts each year to move your cars off
Britannia Square and Albany Terrace on the Sunday and Monday, the
Council teams have been able to deep clean the streets and gutters and
clear out all our drains. This has led to water logging being
significantly improved in recent years.
Information and free Parking
Permits for Pitchcroft and Croft Road car parks (N.B. not Moor Street) will be distributed before the event.
On Sunday 4th July please join us from 3pm at the United Reformed
Church for sweeping and weeding. Equipment will be provided and
children are especially welcome.
Report
Thank
you to everyone who helped with the Street
Spring Clean
in early
July. By
moving your cars, the City and County Councils were able to move in on the
Monday and deep clean the gutters and pavements and clear out the drains. Many
residents came out on the streets to sweep and clean, despite heavy rain
which fell later in the afternoon.
Thanks also to Lisa Smith and Nathan Gunnell at the
City Council
Community Engagement Team for their help, support and resources. We hope to plan another Street Spring Clean in 2022.
